About Me

Paul Flanagan teaches on Compliance and Privacy and Cybersecurity who brings 27 years of working experience working with some of the nation’s leading health care providers and higher education institutions. Before joining the faculty at Drexel 4 years ago , Professor Flanagan served as Executive Director of Compliance and Privacy services for the Drexel University Compliance and Privacy Office. There, he helped manage the University’s Compliance and Data Privacy and Security programs. Previously, he held Compliance and Privacy leadership posts at Abington Memorial Hospital, Hahnemann University Hospital and the University of Florida’s Shands Health System. Professor Flanagan has also served as Vice president and Chief compliance and Privacy officer at Precyse Solutions in Wayne Pennsylvania, Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer at 21st Century Oncology in Orlando, Florida, one of the largest medical oncology practices in the United States and as Chief Compliance Officer at Curascript/Express Scripts Pharmaceuticals. He has held compliance and privacy positions at other leading academic medical institutions across the country, including the University of Arizona and Stanford University. Dual certified in both compliance and health care compliance, Professor Flanagan received his JD from Creighton University School of Law and his MS in Hospital Administration from Widener University. In March, 2018 Professor Flanagan received the prestigious Fulbright award where he taught Compliance and Privacy at the National University of Singapore.
